Best Husband Ever =)

We got that stupid snowstorm last night with all 500 inches of snow. I checked out the window every commercial break to see how much more snow was piled up on my poor car. Silly me had left my boots in the car so I wasn't really looking forward to tromping through it all in my tennis shoes. When I woke up this morning I saw my boots sitting by the door and went 'Aw.' Alex had gotten my boots for me after I went to bed. I then looked at the whiteboard on our fridge and it said this.

1. Remove sticks from car (( the snow was so heavy that some pine branches had fallen on the car next to mine and I made fun of the guy so I assumed Alex thought there would be some on mine. Karma I guess ))

2. Rescrape windows with chisel (( REscrape??))
3. Wake up husband if necessary

4. Drive safe & come back home
I love you

Let's just say that alone made my day. I got out to my car and sure enough there were branches on it. But they had been strategically placed on my front AND back windows. My super duper husband had gone out in the cold snow after I had gone to bed, scraped all my windows, & then covered them so the snow wouldn't have to be scraped off again in the morning. It's alright, you guys can all say 'Awwwww'

So my conclusion is I have the best husband =) I have a couple recipes to post & we're going Christmas tree shopping soon (my first time!) but I can't find my SD-USB converter so I can't upload pics. But once I find it (I'm convinced Chrysis ate it) I will post the delicious cookies I made =)

Trials Of Working In A Kitchen

Just wanted a chance to let everyone see my new battle wound.

At work they use a big commercial oven with doors that open to the side like a regular door. These doors are metal like the rest of the stove. You know how when you have stuff in your hands you just instinctually use another body part to shut the door? Well just a little tip for all you, do NOT listen to that instinct when working with a hot oven. Even though it makes no sense for the OUTSIDE of the door to be just as blazing hot as the inside of the oven. Luckily, it doesn't hurt anymore, until the skin starts peeling off =/

Also yesterday I attempted some Nutella meringues. (recipe) I forgot to take pictures during the baking process so I just have the final product.

Unfortunately, I was not impressed by the results. I wish I wouldn't have baked them because the Nutella flavored marshmallow fluff was DELICIOUS! After they came out of the oven they were dry, hollow, & crumbly which is what they're supposed to be. Apparently, I'm not a fan of meringues. Waste of Nutella if you ask me. I'd much rather just eat it with a spoon. And I'm not ashamed to admit that I have, many times. Who would be? So let's all raise a spoonful of Nutella to Nutella's deliciousness itself.

New Blog....ish

So since I haven't even posted in almost a year =/ I've decided it's time to revamp my blog. I'm not exactly sure how yet but for today let's just start with a story.

Alex and I tried a new church today and although I'm not sure it was the right fit for us it was a good church. It's a smaller church, probably 50-60 people, and we came on a weird day. I guess on the 5th Sunday of the month they take stories from people in the congregation on how God has worked in their lives. So we didn't get a feel for the type of sermons they do. But the people were super nice. A big benefit from a small church. A couple from the church took us out for lunch and we had a really good time. So even though the church isn't exactly what we're looking for, the people were amazing and really encouraging.

And on the way home we saw a man at a stoplight with a sign saying 'Homeless & Hungry. God Bless.' Well the nice people from this church had given us a bag of bagels (they were giving out bread to the community and had TONS of extra) so Alex rolled down the window and held one out for the man. He said 'Is that a bagel?............I don't like bagels.' And away we drove. I laughed SO hard. If you're really hungry, you shouldn't be too picky.

And just because I do want to kind of keep with the quote thing.
